"Guitar Hero 5" Reported to Allow Four of Any Instrument

'Guitar Hero 5' to allow 4 of any instrument Yo Guitar Hero players! Tired of deciding who is going to play what instrument by way of basement set battle royals? Activision feels your pain. Also they need some sort of new hook/feature for the upcoming Guitar Hero 5, so here it is. Kotaku reports today that Guitar Hero 5 will allow for four of any of the in-game instruments to be played during the game. We are talking four guitars, bass guitars, vocals via mics or drum kits.

If you are still down with Guitar Hero–I say this because I’m seeing more and more comments on the blogosphere that are calling the franchise out as getting a bit tired–I suppose this could be kind of cool, especially if Activision amp up the song customization functionality. Also, it could open up the game to DLC that will appeal to rock n’ roll geeks who love the multiple instruments of bands like Blue Oyster Cult (guitars), the Dead (drums), the Allman Brothers (drums), etc. Either way, it will be interesting to see where the franchise goes beyond 2009. Of course DJ Hero has already been confirmed, but at this point I have to agree with the earlier posts I mentioned. Barring a really cool jam feature, the whole endeavor is starting to seem a bit watered down.
