Woo hoo! "Dollhouse," "Castle," "Better Off Ted" Aren't Canceled!

As a fan of shows like Firefly, Moonlight and Pushing Daisies, I’m used to disappointment when show-renewal season comes around. But today is a happy day, as today I’ve learned that a bunch of good series are getting another season. Yay for Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse, sexy Castle (starring Nathan Fillion from Firefly) and the hilariously odd Better Off Ted! Yes, it’s such great news that I’m even rolling out an exclamation point. Oh, and Scrubs got renewed too. I’m not so sure about that one, but what the heck. (Entertainment Weekly has a helpful list here if you want to know the status of more shows.)



Dollhouse is a particularly interesting case, with its avid, DVR-using-fans and home-video sales potential getting a lot of credit for the save. (Note that the DVD and Blu-ray — due on July 28 — will feature an unaired episode guest-starring Felicia Day from Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog and The Guild.) So, nice work, fans. You rock.
