Your Road Map to Success For Your Pay Per Click Campaign

By Brian Basch

In the past several years, the world of pay per click advertising has changed. Google’s changes in policies mean that you can’t just put a huge number of keywords into an ad campaign without thought anymore. At least, you can’t do this if you still want to turn a profit.

Keywords will become deactivated and their costs will rise if you continue with these old methods. It is a fact that bids on even basic keywords have risen, making you pay more attention to your choice of keywords.

The upside of this is the fact that it does not take too much to improve your campaign. If you take a little time to understand the reasons for Google’s rules and regulations and select the right keywords, you will be able to make a profitable campaign.

Google profits through its advertising service. It needs to have ads that entice searchers to click on them so Google can make money. This is the reason that they check the ads carefully.

Quality is number one with Google. They will ruthlessly get rid of worthless sites, spam and false information. Sad to say a lot of PPC are guilty of these problems, so be very sure to get on the good side of Google and make your site and ads as high in quality as you can.

So what can you do? Add some more information to your site to make costs go down and your website quality goes up. All you need is a few additional pages to improve your standing with Google.

Useful additions to your site include; a separate privacy page, an “About Us” page and a list of terms and conditions. Your quality score will increase considerably if you make these additions. A contact page is very important as far as Google is concerned.

These changes may not seem very significant, but they will do wonders for your ranking in the search engines and greatly improve your PPC campaign. Another thing that will help your site is to have an XML sitemap.

An XML sitemap is basically a directory of site contents. Having one of these allows Google to easily see your site and be able to access it. You may have to pay for this but you will get a good return for your investment by saving as much as 35% on your bids.

Knowing what Google wants and how to show the search engine giant that you’re legitimate will help you build an effective campaign. Want to check how effective your keywords are? Search for them and see what comes up.

Another thing you can do is to review your competitors Meta tags and content. Always remember not to copy and paste from anyone’s website. You can get good ideas for improving your own website. When you add new content to your website your Google quality rank will increase and your PPC campaign costs will decrease. - 23595
