PS3 Versions of "Batman: Arkham Asylum" Allow for Play As the Joker

Rumors that Batman: Arkham Asylum would feature the ability to play as the Joker at some point have been rolling around for a good while, and with the posting on Kotaku this morning related to an in-game advertisement in PlayStation Home stating that this will be an option via the PS3 versions' Joker Challenge maps, we can just about call this a reality.

The Joker Challenge Map comes with both the standard and Collector's Edition for PS3. According to the Kotaku post, when they contacted the PR folks for Arkham Asylum they seemed surprised that this ad had gone live. Pretty funny stuff. You just got to love when one hand doesn't know what the other is doing. Anyway, the point of that call was to find out whether the ability to play as the Joker would be available to Xbox 360 player. Until very recently it was just a splash page, but it now has plenty of game content including comic book like art for the character bios.
